Smash it loud.
NuSmash is a free three-band smash. It squashes the loud parts and lifts the quiet ones in each band, so a synth, a vocal or a drum bus jumps out of the speakers. The OTT job, free.
Free download on February 3. Leave your email and we'll send you the link the day it's out.
What you get
- Three bands, split clean. Low, mid and high, with adjustable split points. The bands add back up flat, so DEPTH blends without any phasey comb filtering.
- Down and up. A hard downward wall and a gentle upward lift in every band. The lift fades out toward silence, so hiss never turns into a wall of noise.
- Dial the smash. DEPTH, TIME, UPWARD, DOWNWARD and THRESH, plus a level for each band.
- 12 presets, level-matched within 0.05 dB. So you hear the smash, not just louder.
What it runs on
- Mac: macOS 12 or newer, Apple Silicon or Intel. Audio Unit and VST3.
- Windows: 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. VST3.
- Not on Linux, iPad or phones (yet).
