Rack

Tune the string you can barely hear.

Low strings drift, and most tuners jump around on them. Rack is a strobe tuner that reads the string and stops moving when it is true, with presets for the tunings heavy players actually use, from Drop D to 8-string F#.

The Rack plugin
What it does

Rack in 4 parts.

A strobe that stops

The ring turns while you are out and goes still when you are in tune, with the note and the cents off shown underneath.

Heavy tunings built in

Standard, Drop D, Drop C, B Standard, Drop A and 8-string F#. Pick one and the string keys show the notes to tune to. The key for the string it hears lights up.

Set your reference

A4 sits at 440 Hz and you can move it up or down.

Audio passes through

Rack only listens. It does not touch your signal, so you can leave it on the track.

  • Measured. In our tests Rack reads every string of all six tunings within 0.3 cent.
  • One string at a time. It listens for a single note, so pluck strings one by one.
  • Not part of the Nu series. It is a separate release with its own look.

Mac: macOS 12+, Apple Silicon and Intel, AU and VST3. Windows: 10 and 11, 64-bit, VST3.
