Vise Comp

Six styles. See every dB it takes.

Hold the level, keep the punch. Vise Comp shows the signal, the gain reduction and the curve while you set it, so you hear and see exactly what it's doing.

Six styles

Clean, Classic, Opto, Punch, Bus/Glue and Mastering, each with its own timing and character.

See it

A scrolling waveform with the gain reduction under it, and the transfer curve with a dot riding it.

Parallel mix

Blend the compressed signal with the dry one, from 0 to 100%, for weight without flattening.

Lookahead and sidechain

Up to 10 ms of lookahead to catch the fastest peaks, a sidechain high-pass, and an external sidechain input for ducking.

The usual, done right

Threshold, ratio from 1:1 to 20:1, knee up to 24 dB, attack 0.1 to 100 ms, release 10 ms to 2 s, auto makeup and output.

30 presets

Vocals, drums, bass, guitars, the mix bus, mastering, EDM pumps and metal, plus A and B to compare two settings.

  • Measured, not guessed. On raw drums from one of our songs, Punch let the attack through: the hits stood out 2.0 dB more (peak to loudness 15.2 to 17.2 dB) at the same loudness. The video shows it.
  • Same look as the rest of the paid line. If you know Vantage or Crucible, you already know where everything is.

In the video: raw drums from one of our songs, first with Vise Comp at 1:1 (untouched), then the Kick - Punch preset, level-matched. Nothing else added.

Mac: macOS 12+, Apple Silicon and Intel, AU and VST3. Windows: 10 and 11, 64-bit, VST3.
