Hear it

Real guitar, same riff, level-matched so you're hearing tone, not volume.

Why your distortion turns to mud

You know the sound. Detuned guitars that chug so tight they hit like a second kick drum. Then you crank the distortion and the low end swells into a wet blanket, and the palm mutes stop punching.

The problem isn't how much drive you're using. It's where the bass is when the drive hits. Push big lows into a clipper and they smear everything above them.

Metal guitarists solved this decades ago by putting an overdrive pedal in front of the amp to cut the lows before the gain stage. NuSat builds that trick in as its first knob.

What you get

A starting point

Rhythm guitar, on a distorted amp track

Tight 250 Hz · Drive 12 dB · Low Cut 80 Hz · High Cut 9 kHz · Mix 100%. The exact settings from the demo. Tune by ear from there.

Why is it free?

Straight answer: Dead Signal Audio is brand new, and NuSat is the first plugin. I'd rather it end up on a thousand mix busses than sit behind a paywall nobody's heard of. No email, no account, no trial timer. It's yours.

If it earns a spot in your chain, tag @officialdeadsignalaudio in what you make with it. That's the whole deal.
